The Reality TV returns with his third self release single ‘Dirty Hot’. Keeping true to his past releases with a nod to the 80s new-wave vibe - Dirty Hot brings chorus driven guitar hooks, synth riffs and booming octave bass that’s reminiscent of Manchester’s finest alt indie pop New Order, yet holds a baritone vocal of earlier Joy Division.
The lyrics are based on Mace-Crossley’s struggles with his imposter syndrome, living in a persona and self soothing with substance abuse to try and safe face and keep himself grounded around social events.
Yes there is an element of pop with its catchy chorus, yet the track still has its darker elements following on from his Dark-Wave last release ‘Beats’.
Written, performed and produced by Mace-Crossley in his bedroom studio with a combination of pop, indie, new and dark-wave gives ‘Dirty Hot’ an edge to flavour most alternative music listeners with this funky synth pop summer hit.
